Melli Hoppe received a BA in dance from Columbia College in Chicago and a MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College in Vermont. She is a teaching Artist with Arts for Learning Indiana. She was the Artistic Director of Susurrus Performance Group where she choreographed and directed numerous performances throughout Indianapolis including collaborations for the annual Spirit and Place Festival, which received the NUVO Cultural Vision Award. She was selected as regional artist for the Lewis and Clark ArtsCorps, and was awarded a Creative Renewal Fellowship from the Arts Council of Indianapolis to study site-specific theatre with Firenza Guidi in Italy. She taught stage movement at Butler University where she directed and choreographed several plays including The Dreaming of the Bones, which toured Ireland. Melli has collaborated with Elise Kermani on numerous projects, including the film Jocasta (choreographer and dancer), and Poe and the Museum of Lost Arts (unit director).
